Is Blaster Worm Still Dangerous on Windows 10?
Many people wonder if the Blaster worm is still a threat on Windows 10. The answer is no. Even a patched Windows 2000 or Windows XP would not be attacked by it.
MS-Blaster exploited a buffer overflow on DCOM-RPC, but the fix was provided before it caused significant damage. So, computers that were fully patched were not affected by it.
If you have the Blaster worm executable file and run it now on your Windows 10 computer, it would send a crafted message to your system and other reachable systems. However, unless you have an ancient and unpatched version of Windows, no one will be affected by it.
It is also highly unlikely that it would find any vulnerable Windows 2000 or XP systems online. Therefore, you can rest assured that the Blaster worm is no longer a threat to your Windows 10 computer.
